Strand Lakeside Amenities: Beach, Pool, Hot Tub, Marina and More

By Sean Phillips, REALTOR®, Strand resident ·

Short answer: The Strand Lakeside Resort has a private sandy beach with a roped-off swimming area, a seasonal heated pool, a year-round hot tub, a 51-slip private marina, a landscaped courtyard with pergolas and gas fire pits, paddleboard racks, heated secure underground parking and storage. The upkeep of all of it is included in the strata fee.

I live at The Strand, and the amenities are a big part of why. Here's a walk around the grounds, the way I'd show a friend.

The private beach

The sandy beach on Okanagan Lake is for Strand residents and their guests. The swimming area is roped off and protected from boat traffic, which makes it a favourite with visiting families. It's also a lovely spot for a morning coffee or a paddle on flat water before the boats come out.

The heated pool and year-round hot tub

The pool is heated and open for the season, and it's the social centre of The Strand in summer. The hot tub runs year-round, which is one of the best parts of winter here, especially after a day at SilverStar.

The private marina

The marina has moorage for 51 boats, including 12 slips with power lifts, and it's only for Strand owners. Slips are held separately from the homes and can be bought, sold or rented, but only between Strand owners. Boats must be registered with the strata and carry $2 million in liability insurance. Full details are in how the Strand marina works.

Paddleboard racks beside the marina entrance are assigned to owners by lottery, one per home, and council has applied to the province for seasonal personal watercraft ports.

The courtyard, pergolas and fire pits

The landscaped courtyard is where the resort feel really comes through: pergolas for shade, gas fire pits for evenings, and gardens looked after weekly through the summer. Sunset over the west side of the lake from the fire pits is hard to beat.

Are the amenities included in the strata fee?

Yes. The upkeep of the beach, pool, hot tub, courtyard and grounds is included in the monthly strata fee, along with natural gas, water, sewer, garbage, snow removal and landscaping. Moorage is the exception, since slips are owned separately. See what Strand strata fees cover.
